Supper Time

This mud crab was caught from around our area.
The guys decided to sacrifice it for our supper instead of selling it to the market.

The preparation. You can tell we are not vegetarian.

It may not look like fine dinning, who cares anyway..

The best thing is, sea view dinning with sea fresh quality, no dress code needed.

This sea mantis is big, also part of the supper.

It was a night of feeding frenzy, someone suggested stuffed big squid(caught in the morning) with minced port and salted fish.

There you go, stuffed big squid with minced port & salted fish. Not many people get to get eat quality food like this. Not even KF Seetoh, the makan sutra guy.

Kelong as a tourist destination

Last week, Singapore Tourism Board made a public appeal for new ideas to boost tourist arrival & spending.

As a kelong owner, I think the time has finally come. A new lease of life for the vanishing kelong.

I have on, at least 3 ocassions spoken to STB officers about kelong as a tourist attraction..somehow I did not see any enthusiasm from them.

Perhaps, they were busy with the 'bigger' picture like IR and F1.

Any way, I think kelong(fishfarm included) certainly has a role to play in attracting tourist, both local and overseas.

Below are some pictures from real events at another friend's kelong. As to what & how to do, we are only limited by our own imagination..

Kelong in the distance

Lights on when the sun is down..

Need more lights?

What do you eat when you're at sea? Sea food galore of course!

Done with dinner, just chill out under the night sky, let the sea breeze brush your hair.
